The Deliverytime function is designed to determine the average delivery times of different shipping carriers. Users can compare delivery times for entire countries, specific postal codes, or regions. This feature provides valuable insights into carrier performance, allowing users to make informed decisions and optimize their shipping strategies based on delivery time comparisons for different areas.

Search

The delivery time search is divided into two fields: In the left field, you enter a 2-letter country code (defaulted to "DE"), and in the right field, you enter the postal code. If you want to search for an entire country, you leave both fields empty. But you can also determine the average delivery time for specific areas. For example, if you enter "7," the system will consider all postal codes starting with "7" for the specific country. This allows you to find average delivery times for specific regions within a country.

Filter

The filters essentially work the same way as the filters in tracking. The only difference is that you can filter different aspects.

Search

Within the search filters, you have a range of options to choose from:

  • <none>: Selecting this option means no specific date range filter will be applied. All available shipments will be considered.
  • One year: This option allows you to filter data for the past year. Only shipments from the last year will be considered.
  • Two years: Choosing this filter will show data from the past two years. It narrows down the shipments to the last two years.
  • <Date>: By selecting this option, you can define a custom date range. This enables you to specify a specific start and end date for the filter. Only data falling within this date range will be calculated.

Client

The Client Filter enables users to choose different clients (senders) as filters to consider specific shipments. If no clients are selected, the filter is inactive, and all shipments are considered.

Dispatch types

In the Dispatch Types filter, you have the ability to filter by individual shipping methods. This is distinct from Tracking, where you can only filter by carriers. The reason behind this distinction is to facilitate comparison between various options offered by different carriers. However, the option to filter entire carriers remains available. You can achieve this by activating the slider next to the carrier's name. Carrier names are presented as bold headings for easy identification. This dual functionality allows you to fine-tune your search according to specific shipping methods or carriers, providing a comprehensive approach to filtering shipment options.

Display of Shipping Duration per Dispatch Type

SEMWeb DeliverytimeDisplayColapsed.png
  1. At the top left corner, you'll find the name of the dispatch type along with its corresponding ID.
  2. In the middle, the average shipping duration is displayed, providing you with a quick overview of the typical time it takes for shipments using this particular dispatch type to reach their destination.
  3. At the bottom edge, you'll see the average delivery time represented by short white lines. Each line corresponds to a day, with the last line also displaying a partial segment to indicate a portion of a day's duration. This visual representation provides a quick reference for understanding the average delivery duration associated with the selected dispatch type.

Expanded View

SEMWeb DeliverytimeDisplayExpanded.png
  1. On the left side, you will again see the carrier's name, the dispatch type ID, and the label of the dispatch type.
  2. In the middle, the precision is displayed, indicating the number of shipments delivered using this dispatch type. A higher precision value reflects a more accurate average.
  3. Below, if available, you will find the average price per shipment. This information is accessible if the price has been calculated through the HFMS (a separate application). This expanded view provides detailed insights into the selected dispatch type, including its performance, accuracy, and potential cost implications.
  4.  When a specific postal code for a precise location is entered, a radius search feature is activated on the right side of the screen. This feature performs an average delivery time analysis for shipments to other areas within a certain radius. It considers the distance in terms of straight-line measurement (as the crow flies), displaying this distance alongside the average delivery duration.

This feature is designed to enhance the efficiency of shipping urgently needed items. For example, it enables the optimization of sending goods quickly to a different location of the same customer. By calculating average delivery times and distances, this tool aids in making informed decisions about efficient and timely shipment strategies.

Settings ()

In the General Settings, you will find the same filter configurations that can be preselected. These settings serve as default choices, meaning that they will be automatically applied whenever you select this page. This simplifies your experience by saving your preferred filter settings, allowing you to avoid manually selecting them each time you use the platform.
